Subject: [FoxPUG] August meeting notes

This month we worked on setting up a page at
[foxpug.com](http://foxpug.com). We're using GitHub as our host. It
was as easy as setting up a project at
[foxpug.github.io](https://github.com/FoxPUG/foxpug.github.io) and
then pointing our DNS at it. GitHub doesn't charge for hosting, or for
using our custom domain.

Nick told us about the [PlotCon](https://plotcon.plot.ly/) data
visualization conference this November in New York. It's a four day
conference on the art and technology of data visualization.

Next month the meeting will be on Monday, September 12. That's one
week later than normal, due to the Memorial Day holiday. See you then!

I want to make sure (maybe I already told you this) about PyData Carolinas, September 14-16 in Durham, NC. I'm the co-chair, so I may be either biased or have inside information when I tell you it's going to be spectacular. We have major SciPy stack project leaders speaking (matplotlib, bokeh). One day of tutorials and two days of talks. Everything is fully catered including evening social events. I hope to see you there:
