I could also set up an automatic notification on new commits or even automatically post new commits if you like. cu [1] git://pubgit.metux.de/mirror/expat.git [2] git://pubgit.metux.de/oss-qm/expat.git [3] https://sourceforge.net/p/oss-qm/home/ -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Enrico Weigelt, metux IT service -- http://www.metux.de/ phone: +49 36207 519931 email: weigelt at metux.de mobile: +49 151 27565287 icq: 210169427 skype: nekrad666 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Embedded-Linux / Portierung / Opensource-QM / Verteilte Systeme ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From sandramizrahi at grupomaessa.com Thu Sep 2 12:47:17 2010 From: sandramizrahi at grupomaessa.com (Sandra Mizrahi) Date: Thu, 2 Sep 2010 12:47:17 +0200 Subject: [Expat-discuss] Question about MIT X11 license Message-ID: Hi, We are developing a commercial application and we would like to use Expat. The MIT X11 license ?permits reuse within proprietary software on the condition that the license is distributed with that software?. The problem with including the whole text of the license in each copy of our product is that, in our context, the client would be afraid of using our product if he/she reads the paragraph of the license saying that ?THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND ( )?. Our query is: ?Is it possible to omit the aforementioned paragraph when distributing the text of the MIT X11 license? Thanks in advance for your kind reply, From fdrake at acm.org Thu Sep 2 14:28:41 2010 From: fdrake at acm.org (Fred Drake) Date: Thu, 2 Sep 2010 08:28:41 -0400 Subject: [Expat-discuss] Question about MIT X11 license In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: On Thu, Sep 2, 2010 at 6:47 AM, Sandra Mizrahi wrote: > ?Is it possible to omit the aforementioned paragraph when distributing the > text of the MIT X11 license? No. You *should*, however, explain that this license applies to a component of the application, not the application as a whole, which you're free to warrant as you see fit. ? -Fred -- Fred L. Thats exactly one of the points where OSS-QM comes into play ... BTW: IMHO it would be better if you'd maintain the distro stuff directly in the source tree via git, so applying the patches as separate commits and adding the specfiles (maybe in a subdir) at the end. cu -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Enrico Weigelt, metux IT service -- http://www.metux.de/ phone: +49 36207 519931 email: weigelt at metux.de mobile: +49 151 27565287 icq: 210169427 skype: nekrad666 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Embedded-Linux / Portierung / Opensource-QM / Verteilte Systeme ----------------------------------------------------------------------
