I'm surprised not to find other people with the same problem, looking @
Google & other obvious places doesn't help. I grabbed 1.95.6 and did a
configure and "make" blew up messily and quickly with tons of syntax errors

/bin/sh ./libtool --silent --mode=compile gcc -g -O2 -Wall
-Wmissing-prototypes -Wstrict-prototypes -fexceptions -I./lib -I. -o
lib/xmlparse.lo -c lib/xmlparse.c
lib/xmltok.h:143: syntax error, found `*'
lib/xmltok.h:143: illegal member declaration, missing name, found `)'
lib/xmltok.h:144: syntax error, found `*'
lib/xmltok.h:144: illegal member declaration...

etc.

I've seen reports of OS X problems but they seem to be with static
linking & so on... do I need to work through this one or is it a known
issue & I just missed it when I went looking?
