Hi *,

Please accept my apologies in advance for being off-topic.
We are currently searching (high and low) for passionate Python programmers
for Berlin for a leading multinational provider of real-time ad trading
platforms.

The positions are all _new_ as we want to drive the expansion across
Europe. We decided that Berlin was a great choice given the fantastic local
tech-scene.
Altogether we're looking for around 10-12 engineers to join us over the
coming months.

Company overview is in a few sentences:
- privately owned and very tech-driven (CEO is not some sales or financial
guy but well known within the on Computational Theory research community).
- develops media trading systems which are used by major companies like
Google, Yahoo, Yandex, Facebook & Bing.
- system is used to answer complex computational questions around
probability, data processing and predict potential user behavior, user-
interest and response over which advertisements to deliver.

From an engineering perspective this is highly challenging as it operates
in a High-Availability/High-Traffic environment and requires Real-Time
processing to decide what ads get displayed. A lot of parameters are being
taken into consideration to decide what content gets delivered (a problem
which is essentially NP-hard). The solution is cloud based (SaaS) and work
is structured within agile teams with fast deployment cycles. On the market
since many years and headquartered in the UK but with offices all around
the world. (multicultural, multinational)

Open to accept applications from candidates based outside Germany because
we want to attract the strongest candidates and therefore place no limits
on geography in the search. Talk is cheap, show me the code (as Linus
Torvalds once said), therefore visa sponsorship will be provided for the
right candidate.

The job:
✓ Proven track record of previous projects and strong passion for Open
Source Technologies and High-Traffic, High-Availability Software platforms.
✓ Working on complex high load projects deployed across the world;
✓ Development of business logic in form of Python and Lua programs for in-
house Internet advertisement platform;
✓ Functional testing of implemented business logic using Perl or/and Python
test frameworks;
✓ Support of offline backend data processing programs in Perl and/or
Python;
✓ Coordination with other teams on integration issues;
✓ Direct discussions on implementation details with company clients;
✓ Analysis of system behavior in production.

Requirements:
✓ Experience in Lua from 2 years to x years (any seniority, ... if you just
graduated that's fine if you can show some projects you maybe did on the
side) ;
✓ Strong focus on algorithm and system performance & experience;
✓ Ability to work with complicates business logic;
✓ Passion for Open Source and able to share your know-how across the
organization;
✓ Readiness to study;
✓ Good knowledge of English

Conditions:
✓ Smart people strive to surround themselves with people smarter than
themselves: In this environment you will be working within a leading team
of global subject matter experts;
✓ Professional growth, dealing with the latest technologies;
✓ Flexible working hours;
✓ Salary review 1-2 times per year;
