It's also a bit more fair, because the last to commit a proposal could take advantage of comparing his own proposal with the others.. Also, as you said, we can work on glaring errors before making them public. So.. I'm sending ours to you and John in 5 minutes cheers Fabio 2009/9/28 Laura Creighton > Actually John thinks it would be better if you sent them to > me, we work out any glaring errors, and then all of them > go to the list the same day. Message-ID: <200910111649.n9BGnPp3019817@theraft.openend.se> I said at Europython I wanted those who wanted to bid on EP 2011 to please have a bid ready by the end of September. Contrary to stereotype, I have received one, only 1 day late (ok, there is the stereotype, but I was asked for 'until the end of the week to check figures') from PyCON Italia. I gave the Germans a week extension and I still haven't seen anything. And the Italian one looks perfectly acceptable to me -- I won't veto this one on the grounds of incompetance. So, Germans, Finns, and any of the rest of you who want in on this one .... get your proposal in by the end of the next week -- Oct 16 -- or lose it forever. And for all of you who will get to vote this later ... remember that the Italian bid gets extra bonus points for _submitting on time_, which is a major indication of 'having one's shit together' -- the single most necessary qualification of being competant enough to successfully run a Europython. If the Germans submitted one and my spam filter ate it, I will apologise in my next note. But for me its .... So here is the apology, and I will read it very soon. I'm asking mostly because we've started organising Pycon Italia 2010 and the few structures big enought to easily hold EP 2011 have the booked really in advance, what means... "you can book some week options to hold EP, but don't wait too much". I'm sorry to ask ( and to seem that i'm somehow trying to hurry up things, because it's not ) but we have to confirm or not in the next ( 2? ) weeks to be fairly secure that we won't have any problem.... 2009/10/2 Fabio Pliger > Yeah... it think it's a great idea.
