Thanks for the clarifications.  In the beginning of the PyPy project I 
think there was some mention of using Psyco, or similar, tools to 
achieve performance equal to or exceeding that of C-Python.  I hadn't 
realized that Psyco had been dropped.  The PyPy project has intrigued 
me for some time, but the web site doesn't generally give a good idea 
of the state of the project, or good starting points for learning more, 
but I do keep checking back from time to time.
