From bwarsaw@cnri.reston.va.us (Barry A. Warsaw) Tue Oct 19 17:49:33 1999 From: bwarsaw@cnri.reston.va.us (Barry A. Warsaw) (Barry A. Warsaw) Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 12:49:33 -0400 (EDT) Subject: [DCPIGgies] Next meetings Message-ID: <14348.41245.734427.446073@anthem.cnri.reston.va.us> Folks, I do not yet have a speaker for our next DCPIGgies meeting. Therefore I'm weaseling out of the November 1st date, soliciting ideas for topics, and (most importantly) looking for volunteer speakers. There seemed to be general agreement that we would limit each gathering to a single speaker, who would talk for an hour and take questions. The rest of the time would be spent in general discussion and pizza eating. So I'm asking for volunteers to give a talk on some Python related topic. At some future meeting I will be happy to give a talk on either Mailman or JPython, but I do not want to both give a talk and be the meeting organizer. I'm hoping others will step up and volunteer to organize some of the future gatherings. If you'd like to be a speaker, please email me with your full name, title of your talk, and a explanatory paragraph. Once we've selected a speaker for the next meeting we'll work out the date based on your availability. I would still like to have the next meeting in November, if possible. If you'd like to help organize one of the future meetings, please email me and let me know what location you'd like to use. Remember that we had about 50 people at the last meeting, so plan accordingly. Once I get a list of enough co-organizers, I'd like to schedule the meeting dates through the end of Y2K, so we can all plan ahead. We probably won't have a meeting in January since that's when IPC8 will be held in DC. Thanks, and sorry about that. -Barry
