[Conferences] Running a Conference For Dummies

All,

I don't know if this is the appropriate list. Please direct me
elsewhere if need be.

I'm looking for advice on how to run a small regional conference. I'd
like to pull off a 100-150 person 2 day event, here in the Chapel
Hill, NC area. We've got space and we'll have the date set (in
October) by the end of the month. Once we do that, I'm not sure where
to go from there. I haven't had any kind of experience in this, but no
one else was running it and it needed to happen, so I've got to figure
it out.

I'd just really appreciate any advice, at all. I'm playing it all by ear.
