Hi folks,

Andrew Kuchling and I and others have been discussing the possibility of a
Python conference (or unconference) in DC sometime in 2012, for folks unable
to make it to the west coast for PyCon 2012. I know I can't devote any
serious time to planning this year, but I wanted to at least get the idea
out in the public in case we do decide to move forward; we can then hit the
ground running, probably in early 2012. Also, our non-profit organization's
501(c)(3) application was just accepted by the IRS, so we are now free to
organize more events[0].

About me:
========

Python consultant near DC (mostly doing Plone, Django, Pyramid) I am the
organizer of Plone Conference 2008[1] in DC (along with my wife, Matt Bowen,
and many others) so I have some conference organizing experience. I also
organize the monthly DC Python meetups[2].

Any feedback welcome!

Alex
