Together we will create an environment for conscious dances and embodied discussions, where each can bring and process their questions with the support and the explorative and curious mind of the whole group. We welcome people who dance, teach, perform CI, who bring it into other artistic and social contexts, and thus develop CI further and keep it alive. If you care about the physicality, the history and the philosophy of CI, and hours of dancing, if sharing time and experience, questions, visions and wishes with your peers sounds like heaven to you, we would be honored and happy if you want to come and join us for this week. This week is a chance to create a place where our creativity, diversity and the art of dancing CI teach us how life can be an always changing, challenging and playful exchange.A place where life is art.Elske, Heike and Gesine will facilitate this week. With our structure/ schedule we will provide the skeleton for the week, with our questions and visions we already give it some core muscles and we will need you to bring flesh and nerves, organs and juice to it so it can be alive and moving. Bring your questions, scores, experiments and curiosities to share. Writing them down and sending them to us with your application, will be your contribution to prepare for the week. We will collect them, get a first idea of our collective mind and find a way to present them to the whole group when we will meet. From there we will move through the week together. Application Process:Send us an email where you explain how and since when CI is part of your life; and also write down your curiosities, questions, ideas around CI and what else you would like to offer and share with us during the week. Experiential anatomy based on the principles of Body-Mind Centering (BMC) will deepen our understanding of how we experience both our body and our partners'. Through Hands-On work and specific Movement Research we will explore our personal movement impulses, the initiation of movement inside of us. By focusing our awareness while engaging our imagination we can connect to the inspiration within out bodies. Feeling our creative source allows us a clearer idea of who we are and how we move. This is an invitation into a somatic journey, into a place where we feel at ease with possibility and play. From a safe place within us, we begin to discover our dance in relation to ourselves, the earth and another body. We will touch gravity, communicating and listening through our bodies as we dance. For people who wish to experience CI through the work of BMC. What is BMC??Body-Mind Centering is an approach of experiential anatomy, which has been developed by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen. Anatomical images and information give us a clear understanding of our body and help us to focus on certain structures. Using these structures, touch, and active imagination, we find movement. A wider sense of our body can give us movement inspiration and possibilities, can support us to be more present and at home in ourselves. We will give our body time to experience itself, to regenerate and to find expression. I am an Integrative Bodywork and Movement Therapist (DiplIBMT), student from Linda Hartley, and hold an MA in Performance Studies/Choreography. I am interested in the integration of body and mind into our dance and our life. This manifests in being present in the different layers of our body, researching new movement impulses, and repatterning by becoming more aware of our habits. I love to dive into the immense ocean of my body to discover myself as I am and in new ways, and to meet others. In the last years I have taught in Brasil, Romania, Spain, Switzerland and England and performed in several works internationally. In Berlin I teach contemporary dance, Embodied Anatomy based on the principles of Body-Mind Centering? (BMC), Contact Improvisation, and Mornin?Movin? classes. I am organizing jams, research events, and workshops. K?rperarbeit (Hands-on) wird uns in unserer Bewegungsforschung begleiten. We want to offer a space to develop our moving body, deepen our understanding and personal journey into this dance through a longer period of time. This CI Training Program creates the opportunity to study Contact Improvisation systematically and continuously with a group of people we come to trust. It offers precise technique, somatic movement research (learning from within) and support for the individual learning process. In the technical part of our investigation, we will work in smaller groups in order to offer ?tools? and material for people with different levels of experience. We seek to create space for individual interests and needs. In our work it is important to us to maintain the balance between a technical exploration as a development of a mutual language and the freedom of speaking this language ? dancing ? communicating, improvising, playing freely in dance. We are interested in how awareness, trust and feeling within the group will change, develop and grow ? how is our communication, our interaction and our actual way of being together influenced by our dance practice and our time together? This year we are excited to offer an ?open continuation? which will build on the experience and material of the previous CI Training Program in Hamburg. We want to create the opportunity to learn and play with a group of people sharing a common knowledge of CI. At the same time we would like to invite people who are interested in this kind of learning environment. We would like to offer inspiration and new material for dancers with more experience as well as opening an easy and welcoming entry for those who come in freshly. All participants will receive a certificate including the content of the training program.
