Hi, all!  I'm writing to announce the upcoming East Coast Spring Jam, near
Charles Town, W VA, April 12 to 16.  For those of you (ric-ci, dc-ci) who
received a prior copy, this one has some clarifications.  For those of you
on ContactImprovBoston, i hope this is an appropriate use of the list - let
me know otherwise, and i'll stop.

Also, we're interested in extending the outreach about the jam, and i'd
like to hear about other regional CI mailing lists that might be interested
in such annoucements - please send me an email if you know of any.  I'd be
happy to share the composite list, so we can all share announcements with
one another.

On April 8, 2006 a rare and extraordinary group of artists will come
together for a powerful cause.

The Phffft! Dance Theatre Company <http://www.phffft.org/>  will team up

Hi, all!  We're writing both to remind you about the upcoming spring jam,
and also to request leads for outreach about the east coast jams, in
general.

First, the spring jam is _soon_ - april 12 to the 16.  That great price
goes UP $20 after march 31, so register asap!  For more details, see

Second, we're seeking leads on Contact Improv mailing lists on the eastern
seaboard - places where East Coast Jam announcements would belong.  We have
access to the dc, richmond, and philadelphia lists, and have gotten a
posting in the Boston and NYC lists.  Do you know of any other distribution
lists?  (North Carolina?  Upstate New York?  Baltimore?  ...)

Third, we ask that those fond of the jam help get the word out about it.
Get in touch w/friends that you'd like to see there, and encourage them to
get out the word, as well.  The best kind of publicity is personal, because
it leads to a jam that's personal.  (There's plenty enough commerce in the
world, already.)

Lastly, the east coast jam web site has been resituated.  The url is the
same, but the system is completely different - it'll be a lot easier for
the organizers to adjust and extend it the site, going forward.  Let us
know if you notice anything awry, or have an idea about something simple it
could do that would be useful to the jam.  Transportation links and a
rudimentary ride board will soon be in the works.  Let us know what you
think!

Thanks for your attention, and any leads you can provide!  Hoping to see
you there, and dance together...

Touching the Moment: From Stillness to Impulse to Action
Contact Improvisation is an honoring of every moment. There is a sweet
surrendering that happens when our bodies stay faithful to what is happening
now, and now... and NOW! In this workshop we learn to recognize and
differentiate the subtle impulses in our choices and our partner's choices.
We begin to decipher the cues that we give and receive which tell us when to
lead or follow, when to go up, when to go down, where to touch, how to lift,
when to slow down, and when to be still. Learn to stay in integrity with
each choice, never forcing, never rushing. When Body, Mind, and Spirit are
united in their instinctive wisdom we find our-selves at home in every
moment expressing our true nature in the dance.              - For the
Beginner in all of us

Mark Zemelman, MFA, began practicing Contact seventeen years ago. Over the
past twelve years he has taught and performed across the US and more
recently in Holland, Germany, Scotland, and Israel.  He runs the new website
www.contactimprov.com <http://www.contactimprov.com/> , plays ambient
vocal-electronic music for Contact Jams, was an original member of Wire
Monkey Dance Company, and has facilitated programs at Earthdance, Omega
Institute, and Kripalu Yoga Center. Other training includes yoga, Action
Theater, voice training, stilt-walking, modern dance, and clowning.
