Cyrus- July 29-August 5 Wild Meadows Improvisation Intensive - Schellsburg, PA Facilitators: Chris Aiken, Dan Burkholder, Cyrus Khambatta, Sharon Mansur and Caroline Waters. Cost: $400 ($100 dep. by July 5) includes food, lodging and workshop fee. Workshop takes place on 200 acres of farm and forest land at the base of the Allegheny mountains. A quiet farm setting nestled between two ridges far from civilzation. This workshop is designed for intensive focus on the exploration of improvisation, including a daily warm-up, three class sessions and a guided jam at the end of each day. The work will include contact improvisation/releasetechnique, issues of improvisational composition and The Viewpoints, ensemble building techniques, site-specific exploration and some work with voice, text and theatricality..Combining pratitioners with diverse approaches, the intention of the workshop is to expand the scope of improvisational possibilities available to the performer.
