From klm@digicool.com Fri Jul 30 17:01:10 1999 From: klm@digicool.com (Ken Manheimer) Date: Fri, 30 Jul 1999 12:01:10 -0400 Subject: [CI-Announce] Monthly Authentic Movement session at Joe's, DC Message-ID: <613145F79272D211914B0020AFF640191D1C53@gandalf.digicool.com> [I'm forwarding this to the umbrella ci-announce list for robin and guido - and me, i'm *really* looking forward to getting some authentic movement practice on a regular basis! Ken.] Hello Everyone (psst- Guido, can you please forward this to the larger list- i can't remember how to do that. Dank je vel.) [The larger list is ci-announce@python.org, for everyone's info. Ken.] Ash, Ken and I have been brainstorming about creating a monthly authentic movement group. In the interest of making headway, we've chosen 3 dates to get started, and i have secured Joe's for this purpose. The dates: Sundays- Aug. 22, Sept. 12, and Oct. 3. Time 11:30am-2:30 pm. There is a distinct gap between authentic and jam time to keep the 2 from spilling together. The idea here is to have a committed core of people with experience in authentic movement. It's not a class or workshop, but there will be one or two facilitators (on a rotating basis) each month. Ideally, most participants would make this a priority in their busy lives so that there is a certain level of stability within the group. We're not aiming at exclusivity, but this will be less casual (re: punctuality, etc) than the jam. Nuts and bolts: Brooke requests a minimum of $30 per 3 hour session. This is CHEAP and quite generous of Brooke, and it does mean that even if only 3 people show up on a given date, that those people agree to cover the cost. [Aside- the jam has been fluctuating during the summer, and Brooke can't afford to run a charity. Perhaps the jammers can come up with a way to kick in a bit more when needed.] Questions about monthly authentic can be directed to Ash,myself or, if appropriate, to the list. Mark Aug. 22 for the first session! love, Robin _______________________________________________ DC-CI maillist - DC-CI@python.org http://www.python.org/mailman/listinfo/dc-ci
