Hi Shrikant, There was already an intro talk to decorators in the December meetup[1]. You could use that as a starting point and talk more. Would be super cool. I was looking through our mail archives and saw that Vijay had spoken about the Bytecode implementation sometime in 2013 (correct me if im wrong) but that would be great. Moreover, I don't think a lightning talk does justice to the importance of the subject either. Which is why I felt a talk of the duration and style of a typical TED Talk [1] would be nicer. A 20-25 minute talk capturing the essentials in a big picture way would be ideal. A quick Google search [2] revealed a remarkable number of blog posts about Python's VM. Maybe some of them could be converted into a talk with some details removed? Again, this was just a suggestion. I realise that the arcane details of a language's implementation may not interest a majority of the audience, especially when most of them are beginners (I am one myself!). If there is enough interest in such topics in the group, does it make sense to have one long talk per meetup? The talk can be chosen based on votes. Everyone who wants to speak about something long will specify so at the start of the month and a poll can be left open for 10 days after which it can be decided. We can continue the lightning talks and have one deep dive talk per meetup. Any thoughts? (Duration of the project, Cost, Accuracy, Desktop datastructure etc) I am an electronics engineer and currently doing my PhD in IITM. There are few finger print sensors (Rs.2500/-) available in the market with UART communication lines. These have to be interfaced with a microcontroller and the data can be sent wirelessly to PC. On the PC, there can be a software which receives the same and store in a day to day basis. The electronics part won't take much time, but customizing on the PC might depending on the user software specs. Atleast I can provide the electronics drawing necessary to build the setup and someone else can write a piece of code to read the same and display in the way want. Any update on this? We don't have a page for the Jan meetup on our site. The page depends on the MOM. Maybe Balamurugan isn't on the list? I tried reaching out to him via meetup as well. No avail. Personally a person I know via twitter actually strives a lot for this since he himself is severely hearing impaired. I think we as a community should start understanding that people from all walks of life would love to collaborate and learn from others and do what we can to help them out. I will take a step ahead and try and transcribe all the talks from the Jan meetup. It would be great if we could have some volunteers to do this from the Feb meetup onwards.
