Which of the approaches are you using actually? Crash consistency with
FS-level snapshot only or pg_start_backup+pg_stop_backup+copy+WAL?

I'm using BorgMatic with its hooks, which are simply apps/scripts
executed before and after "borg create" and therefore create some
lifecycle which normally makes totally sense to e.g. create FS-level
snapshots and clean those up. Things like pipes are a bit more
difficult, because while those could be created BEFORE and used by
"borg create", AFTER wouldn't fire to provide the WALs created by
pg_stop_backup. Some kind of chicken&egg problem.

But nevermind, it's not too important anymore, I'm more interested in
your FS-level snapshots. I most likely won't run systems without those
anymore.
