Really sad and shocking.

I had a "bad feeling" when I read one of his last tweet that he was looking
for a wheelchair, but I had always thought that he would recover.

I remember reading his column "comversations" in PCQuest decades ago and
meeting him in person when he was in Pune few years ago.
