Hello all,
I write this to announce the first public release of the ERFA
(Essential Routines for Fundamental Astronomy) library. ERFA is a C
library containing key algorithms for astronomy, as a primarily
drop-in replacement for the IAU's SOFA library, but re-licensed (with
the SOFA board's explicit permission) to be compatible with typical
Free/Open Source Software licenses, and with a faster bugfix cycle.
ERFA is available now on macports, and has been submitted to Fedora and Debian.
The release can be downloaded from:
https://github.com/liberfa/erfa/releases/download/v1.0.1/erfa-1.0.1.tar.gz
The project page is: https://github.com/liberfa/erfa
And the issue tracker is at: https://github.com/liberfa/erfa/issues
Thanks to all who helped make this happen!
