Tarus Balog of OpenNMS on Python versus Java:

"Where Zenoss has a great advantage right now is the fact that they are
in Python. Python is kind of, the best of both worlds, you get a
lot of Java-esque kind of things but then you get the
usability of Perl."

perspective on Python adoption.
